Poetry: Sparrow

Here's my response for NaPoWriMo's day nine response. If you want to participate, you can view the prompt here. The assignment today is to make a visual poem and so I formed my poem to replicate how sparrows fly and skitter to and fro.

Sparrow

By Brittany Mishra

Muddled feathers and wings

                                               Down the tree

                                Aged as bark

                Spackled brown

                                                                                                                                                They wear the sky

                                                                                                Blue cape

                             And                cloud                        hood

                                                Yellow sun shoes

Beyond the feathered mound

                                                                                                Straw and twig

                                                    Woven into love

Wherever they lay

                                                                                                                Wherever they fly

Their wings clothed by sky

                Whether alive among the nest

Or fallen eternal among the grass

Brown and tan

                              Plain song

And humbled breast

Their feathers fold the sky to rest.
