Poem: The Age of Distraction #the100dayproject Day 69

This was a fun little experiment....

The Age of Distraction

I want you to touch me like the beer can you bring to your lips.
I want you to caress me just as your fingertips stroke your phone.
I want you to hold me in the palm of your hand like your mouse.
I want you to type on me as if I hold the keys to unlock the language in your daily reports.
I want you to look at me as if I were an email from your boss,
I want you to open me like that email and read me, your pulse racing.
I want you to respond, “yes ma’am, thank you ma’am.”
I want you to never say a word, delete it, and get to work.
