NaPoWriMo Day 20...Melancholy: A Disease

I tried to write a poem that talks, but I don't know if I was successful...

Melancholy: A Disease

Tears come from a warm place of rage,
an incubator of flesh and blood
little seeds all of them, planting sadness
all over sidewalks, clothes, and bathrooms
and that is how it spreads,
a contagion.
You can feel its miasma in the air,
it clutches your breath, steals your speech.
If you look at tears under a microscope,
you will find a journey with a million feet,
hungry mouths, the midnight hour
when all of the sad people beg for sleep.
No antibiotic or rubbing alcohol can rid this disease.
It's on all of us like yeasts and germs waiting
to intrude through our thin skin,
waiting to replicate itself a million times
until the host dies, reborn as an entity,
a blue amoeba, a parasitic sadness that feeds.

NaPoWriMo Day 19...The Fall of Eden

Here is by abecedarian poem. I tried something different with this by making my word choice to follow each letter of the alphabet in order. The letters are underlined.

The Fall of Eden

Apples benevolently captivated,
damning Eve forever, so

God heaved inside the Jordan
and keened a laugh to maketh the night.

He offered his parenthood without question,
retracted his severed thoughts,

and unwove his vow, waist-deep.
In the river, he signed his name as X

and set into the current
the year of the lord as zero.

NaPoWriMo Day 18...Leave your Mark

Leave your Mark

A road median told me
that you’ll live
as a tire mark
dark like a burn scar

vivid at first
but you will wear away
just as the adhesive
of the band aid

on your arm
smudges and fades
just as your blood
collected in vials

forgets how to pulse
you forget how to move
how it feels to hold
a wheel in your hands,

the pot holes, the bumps
the vibration as the engine
tells the tires to rotate
and grip the asphalt

you sit in the hospital
without an engine
to tell your limbs
to rev and roar

to scar the world
leave your mark
